A short PSA film about the cost of inaction on school gun violence, written and directed in response to becoming a parent. Made without a budget, on donated film, gear, and talent, because the people involved believed it needed to exist.

THE WHY

There came a time when sending a child to school no longer felt like a routine act. As a new father and PTG Founder and Director, Stephen could no longer reconcile what he was seeing in the news with what he was being asked to accept as normal. Talking about it was not enough. So he wrote a script and looked for partners who might feel the same way.

This film is not about making political statements or adhering to agendas. It is a plea to save lives, inspire, take a deeper look at the human condition, and remind us all what is truly at stake.

THE APPROACH

There was no budget. There was no agency, no brand client, no commercial reason to make this film. There was an idea, a script, and a willingness to ask. Kodak said yes after a cold email and donated 35mm film stock. ARRI, Cinemoves, Fotokem, Hawk Anamorphic, MPC, Camtec, and OTM all stepped in to donate gear, post services, and resources. Verdugo Hills High School in Los Angeles opened their campus. And a full crew of department heads, cast, and post-production talent donated their time.

We shot on 35mm because the medium itself mattered. Film carries weight. Film says this is important. The piece was edited, scored, mixed, and color-graded by a team of artists who refused payment because they wanted their craft to mean something beyond a paycheck.

THE OUTCOME

The film lived online and built quiet momentum through industry channels, screened internally at brands and post houses, and became a calling card for the kind of work Stephen wanted to keep making. No festival run, no distribution plan, no marketing budget. Just a small film made by people who cared, for an audience that needed to hear it.
